James R. Mann

James R. Mann passed into eternal rest of July 18, 2012 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. He was the son of the late Porter Mann Sr. and Sudie Keyes Mann.

Mr. Mann was born in Chester where he graduated from Chester High School in the class of 1950. He furthered his education with an undergraduate degree from Cheney University and graduate degree from Temple University. He lived most of his adult life in Philadelphia. He was employed for many years with the Philadelphia School District, most recently teaching at Mitchell Elementary School and Berean Institute.

He was a former member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Mr. Mann was predeceased by siblings Alberta Newton, Porter Mann, Jr., Hattie Bagley, Theresa McNair, Henry Mann and A. Beatrice Gillis.

He leaves to cherish a wonderful life, daughters Paulette Wells, Wanda Mann and Marilyn Mann, grandchildren Derrick Wells, Tressa Stanley, Nanette Carwell and Takeya Weems, 8 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
